This paper analyses how Amazon responds to regulatory issues in relation to key global markets. Analysis evidence promotes a complex strategy with enhanced lobbying activity, cooperation with third-party sellers, and changes in business functioning to correspond to compliance standards. However, having brought such costs and attention to it, Amazon has managed to use it power to retain its monopoly and superiority over its competitors. Possible limitations concerning the data availability and possible biases are discussed, and recommendations are given for future studies of the new regulatory fields such as AI ethics and data sovereignty.
